Deep thinkers deserve a deep education.

At St. John’s, great books—and great discussions—are the heart of the college’s distinctive liberal arts program. Students are part of an intellectual community and investors in their own education, from conversations around the seminar table to those that take place beyond classroom walls. Inspired by some of history’s most brilliant philosophers, scientists, musicians and thinkers, students push themselves to consider deeply, discuss intensely, and live boldly. They leave St. John’s with a passion that ignites distinctive career paths—and their world.

In addition to our singular undergraduate program, St. John’s also features graduate programs. Whether you are pursuing the Master of Arts in Liberal Arts, the Master of Arts in Eastern Classics, or the Liberal Arts Education Certificate, our radical vision of education is simple: the study of great books and the discussion of those books in a singular intellectual environment.

Students now have the choice to complete each of our graduate degree programs online* or in-person. You will experience a deeply personal education rooted in the St. John’s tradition of great books and thoughtful exploration alongside your fellow students and our experienced tutors, from anywhere in the world. There are no prerecorded lessons, no lectures, and no overenrolled classes.

To begin your St. John’s journey, contact our admissions office or fill out the form on this page.

*Online Program has been submitted for review and is approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission; pending approval by Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and the Higher Learning Commission expected by March 2021.
