Pritzker Promise Bridge Program

The Pritzker Promise Bridge Program is a yearlong program that provides incoming students the opportunity to get a head start on developing key academic skills, connecting with tutors and peers, building lasting friendships with fellow participants, and learning how to leverage campus resources as they join the Johnnie tradition of delving into the Great Books. The program also includes peer mentorship, connections to the local community, cultural exploration, and ongoing support for the first year of college.

Students are invited to join the Pritzker Promise Bridge Program following a holistic review process that takes into consideration:

  • if the student is first-generation, meaning among the first in their family to attend college
  • if the student comes from a background that is historically underrepresented at St. John’s College (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color, and Pell Grant recipients);
  • if the student has an F-1 Visa;
  • if the student’s high school was lacking educational and enrichment opportunities or mentoring resources.

Over the course of the program, you can expect to:

  • Develop the specific academic skills and study habits vital to your success in the St. John’s Program;
  • Establish meaningful relationships with your student mentor, faculty members and fellow participants in an encouraging community of fellow learners;
  • Receive individualized guidance and support with financial aid, financial literacy, work study, personal and professional development, and more;
  • Be empowered to advocate for yourself on campus and to access the resources you need to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom;
  • Take part in social events that will introduce you to the vibrant and distinct culture of St. John’s;
  • Receive free tuition and room and board for the duration of Bridge Program;
  • Look forward to Bridge Program peer mentoring and special events throughout the school year.
