Athletics, Fitness and Outdoor Program

The 26,000 square-foot Student Activities Center (SAC) houses a full-size gymnasium, two racquetball/squash courts, and an extensive exercise and free-weight training room. Regularly scheduled activities include basketball, soccer, volleyball, intramural games, meditation, yoga, Zumba, and martial arts classes. Equipment for tennis, racquetball, squash, pool and table tennis are available to check out at the front desk.

The SAC’s Outdoor Program facilitates off-campus trips throughout the semester that explore the beauty of the Southwest through adventure activities such as rock climbing, backpacking, rafting, and skiing, often at little or no cost to students.

The much-beloved intramural program includes team competition in Ultimate Frisbee, flag football, basketball, dodgeball, four square, floor hockey, and more. Every student, faculty, and staff member is automatically placed on one of four intramural teams (though participation is voluntary)—Geometers, Quixotics, Myrmidons, and Olympians. Competition is fun and fierce!
