The Graduate Institute Experience

St. John’s College is located on two spectacular campuses: one in Annapolis, Maryland, and another in Santa Fe, New Mexico. On both campuses, students immerse themselves in a vibrant graduate community and local culture.

In Annapolis, students explore cobblestone streets lined with restaurants and shops along the Chesapeake Bay. The campus is located just thirty minutes from Washington, DC.

In Santa Fe, students indulge in the arts, opera, and great outdoors that make New Mexico world famous. On-campus housing is available for students year round in Santa Fe and during the summer semester in Annapolis.

Students taking online classes have the same access to one-on-one meetings with tutors, student support services, and tuition assistance and scholarships as our in-person students.

Our Students

The Graduate Institute attracts students of varied ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Some students enroll shortly after graduating from college, often seeking a foundation in classic texts that they missed in more conventional undergraduate programs. Other students are actively engaged in careers, and some already hold graduate degrees. Students in retirement or hiatus from their careers also seize the opportunity to use their time for serious reflection in the Graduate Institute.

After the Graduate Institute

The Graduate Institute is transformative. It prepares students to read, write, and think in ways they have never done before. Many of our students are already in the middle of successful careers, and they take the skills they develop in the Graduate Institute back to the office. Other students use the Graduate Institute and Career Services to launch a new career, particularly in education..

Learning doesn’t stop for our students once they graduate, so we make sure they are prepared to pursue further degrees and professional programs at other top universities and schools, such as:.
