Health Insurance Requirements and Information
United States Citizens
United States federal law requires all citizens to be covered by health insurance. At St. John’s, students are required to provide proof of health insurance coverage to the Student Health Office. If students already have health insurance, they will need to submit policy information via a web portal administered by the college’s insurance broker, RCMD. Go to the web portal.
If students are not yet enrolled in health insurance and would like to do so, they can enroll via the New Mexico Health Exchange. In consultation with the college’s insurance broker, Tim Cummons, the college recommends enrolling in one of the plans administered by New Mexico Health Connections. Once students have enrolled in an insurance plan, they will need to submit policy information via the web portal administered by the college’s insurance broker, RCMD. Submit policy information.
The college also requires all international students to be enrolled with a plan called GeoBlue. All international students will also need to submit proof of this coverage through the RCMD web portal. In order to assist with the enrollment in GeoBlue and to ensure proper registration with the web portal, all international students need to contact the college’s insurance representative, Tim Cummons, at 410-583-5452, toll-free at 800-346-4075 ext. 1452, or at .
The Student Health Office will see students for health care services under any insurance plan. Students must bring their insurance card each time they have an appointment with one of the health care providers. The Health Office does not collect co-pays or deductibles, so students will not incur out-of-pocket charges for a visit.
Students are responsible for understanding their insurance coverage for services provided at the Health Center as well as services provided off site.
