Immunizations/Vaccinations

In an effort to maintain a healthy campus environment, all incoming students are REQUIRED to complete the new student health forms, including immunization records, by the designated submission date. This form is available through the student health portal.

Required Vaccines

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella), 2 doses of MMR OR 2 doses of measles & mumps PLUS 1 dose of rubella OR positive blood titers. All doses must be administered at 12 months of age or older.
  • Tdap (Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis) vaccine for adults. Must have been given at age 11 or older and within the last 10 years.
  • Hepatitis B, 3 doses
  • Polio (OPV or IPV)
  • Varicella, 2 doses, at least 1 month apart OR positive titers
  • Meningococcal Quadrivalent, 2 doses of quadrivalent conjugate. One dose must have been after the age of 16.

Tuberculosis Screening

All international students are required to have a Tuberculosis blood test (T-spot or Quantiferon) within six months of entering St. John’s College.

Recommended Vaccines

  • Influenza, recommended annually
  • Hepatitis A, 2 doses, or combined Hepatitis A/B vaccine
  • Meningitis B, 2 doses, 1 month apart for Bexsero; 3 doses in 6 months for Trumenba
  • Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), 3 doses
  • COVID Bivalent, 1 updated vaccine

The immunizations listed can be obtained at a local health care provider’s office, pharmacy (CVS, Walgreens), health department, or urgent care center.

Students seeking a medical or religious exemption to the immunization requirements should contact the health center for additional information about that process.
