Meem Library Policies

Gift Policy

Meem Library is not accepting book donations until further notice.

Meem Library accepts all gifts-in-kind that it deems appropriate to the collection, with the provision that the librarian has the right to handle or dispose of such gifts in the best interests of the college. The library does not accept materials in poor condition, nor periodicals, VHS tapes, cassette tapes, or vinyl records.

In accordance with federal guidelines, the library does not make appraisals of gifts for tax, inheritance, or any other purpose. Donors are recognized by the college in the following ways:

  • A special bookplate bearing the donor’s name is inserted in gift materials that are eventually kept by the library, if the donor so wishes.
  • The Development Office provides the donor with a letter of acknowledgement.

For additional information, please contact Jennifer Sprague, library director, at jennifer.sprague(at)sjc.edu.

Reserve Policy

Reserve materials may be borrowed for a two-hour period, and are restricted to library use only. Because of the seriousness of depriving others of the use of these materials, fines of $5 per day are charged for overdue reserve items. For additional information contact Jennifer Sprague, library director, at 505-984-6041 or jennifer.sprague(at)sjc.edu.

Room Use Policy

Classrooms and study rooms in the library can be reserved for classes, meetings, and special events by contacting Jennifer Sprague, the library director, at jennifer.sprague(at)sjc.edu.
