Portia Abbott (SF21) received a $5,000 Global Pathways Fellowship to help cover expenses. Abbott spent six weeks painting with oils, discussing art, and exploring the French city of Aix-en-Provence as a participant in the Leo Marchutz School of Painting & Drawing, one of the study-abroad options available through St. John’s College.
New solar installation unveiled on Earth Day, April 22, 2023. The installation will generate 100% of the campus’s electricity and includes 1,670 solar panels and 20 electric vehicle charging stations for use by the St. John’s community.
What is it like to arrive to the college from another country? “It was a weird and unique journey,” says Pari Sitaula (SF16), who came to St. John’s College from Nepal in 2012. “Just showing up in Santa Fe, I didn’t know what to expect.”
St. John's College returns to its roots with this revival of Earth Day, a tradition the college first celebrated in 1970 with a visit from Max Linn, the president of the John Muir Institute.
