Immunizations/Vaccinations

To maintain a healthy campus environment, all incoming students are REQUIRED to complete the new student medical forms, including immunization records, in their Student Health Portal by the designated submission date.

The following immunizations are required:

All Students

  • Two MMR’s (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) after your first birthday (unless you were born before 1957)
    • If you are unsure if you have had the MMR or are unable to obtain the records, you can schedule an appointment to have blood drawn to test your immunity levels (Titer).
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tdap
  • Polio
  • Varicella or evidence of past disease
  • Meningococcal Conjugate

Residential Students

  • Meningitis: Maryland law requires that all students living in on-campus housing have a meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) within five years of entering SJC, or sign a waiver stating that they understand the risks of meningitis and elect not to have the vaccine.

International Students

  • Tuberculosis (TB) test: All international students are required to have a Tuberculosis blood test (T-spot or Quantiferon) within six months of entering SJC.

The following immunizations are recommended:

  • HPV
  • Influenza
  • Meningitis B

The immunizations listed above can be obtained at a local physician’s office, health department, medical office, or urgent care center.

Students seeking a medical or religious exemption to the immunization requirements should contact the SHWC front desk by emailing annapolis.healthcenter(at)sjc.edu.
