TIAA-CREF (403b)

  • Eligible first of the month after hire; fully vested immediately
  • Contribute to your annuity immediately
  • Match = 100% up to 2% of your current salary, after 2 years of service, the plan will contribute 4% of your salary whether you contribute or not and in addition to the matching contribution, if you do participate (6% match)

Winter Break

The college is closed between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day for non-essential personnel.

Administrative Closures

Early release at noon on the following days:

  • The workday before Memorial Day
  • The workday before Labor Day
  • The workday before Thanksgiving
  • The workday before Christmas Eve

Vacation (Non-Exempt)

  • Full-time employees accrue 2 weeks in the first full year of service, 3 weeks during your second full year and 4 weeks during your third full year and every year thereafter

Vacation (Exempt)

  • Full-time employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation time per year

Sick

  • Full-time employees accrue 2 weeks each year

Tuition Waiver

  • Undergraduate: Eligible after 2 years of full-time employment, qualified dependent children will be considered to receive a tuition waiver to either attend St. John’s College or an external accredited institution. The maximum amount considered, paid each year directly to the external institution is the lesser of one-half the qualified tuition of the educational institution attended, or one-half of the tuition fee at SJC.
  • Graduate: Eligible after 6 months anniversary of full-time employment, employees and spouse/domestic partner are eligible to apply to attend the Graduate Institute and are eligible for a tuition waiver.
