In early in 2021, Lily Kowalczyk (A18) returned to St. John’s—after studying at Syracuse University and working at Johns Hopkins—to work as a circulation assistant in the Greenfield Library.
As leader of the college Syriac study group, Johnnie senior Joseph Richard (A22) believes the culture of extracurricular study at St. John’s represents “the desire to dig deeper into the possibilities of human thought.”
The Socratic Society, created by St. John’s tutor Jason Tipton and Naval Academy Instructor John Childress, brings students from both institutions together over the course of the semester to discuss various texts.
Christine Curran (A00) believes that “we can each do a part to make the world a better, more loving place.” Since January 2021, she’s been putting that principle into practice as executive director of the Ignatian Spirituality Project (ISP).
Over the summer, an internship with the city of Annapolis helped senior Jessie Tagliani (A22) pursue an interest in urban planning—a field that she says “in some ways … perfectly corresponds to the interdisciplinary mentality that we have at St. John’s.”
